Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started with training?

The first step to enroll in any one of our Board and Train programs or Private Sessions is to schedule a free phone consultation. This allows us to briefly discuss your goals, and what’s expected from you and your dog to be successful. If your dog has severe behavioral issues like aggression or reactivity, a Behavioral Assessment held at our facility may be required before moving forward.

Do I need to schedule a Behavior Assessment?

Recommend for adult dogs with severe aggression or anxiety, or bite history. Dogs with a bite history or who demonstrate aggression of any kind must receive a Behavior Assessment. During the assessment your dog's body language, triggers, and responses are observed in a controlled setting to understand the root of their behavior. You’ll receive professional recommendations on training direction, management strategies, and program placement.

How old does my dog have to be to begin training?
  • Our Puppy Jump Start is for young puppies 12 weeks to 5 months.

  • Our 3-week Level 1 Program is for dogs 4 months and older.

  • Our 5-week Level 2 On & Off Leash Program is for dogs 8 months and older.

*All programs require proof of your dogs core vaccinations.

Why do I need to schedule a Behavioral Assessment?

A Behavioral Assessment is important to make sure that the dog coming in to board with us will not pose a risk to the staff or students during training. We observe any inappropriate or unwanted habits, and gather a baseline of your dog’s behavior. It also gives us a chance to discuss training goals, while creating realistic expectations for our students and clients. Once the evaluation is complete, we will be able to recommend an appropriate training program/package.

What happens after my Behavior Assessment?

You’ll leave with a professional assessment, customized recommendations, and a clear path forward.

My dog shows aggression and has reactive behavior, can you help us?

Depending on the severity of the behavior, a board and train program may be recommended to maintain safety of the owner and trainers.

Does my dog need to be neutered/spayed to join a training program?

Intact or neutered and spayed dogs are all welcome! During board and train programs, all dogs are closely supervised and never left unattended.

*NOTE* - Female dogs in heat are not allowed in any training programs for the full duration, usually a minimum of 21 days. No exceptions.

Where does my dog stay during their Board & Train program?

Our goal is to create realistic training scenarios for our students, making the transition easy once you take them home. Your dog will be cared for as if they were one of our own. They are always supervised and never left unsupervised, they tag along to any errands, field trips and sleep safely in temperature controlled rooms in their assigned size-appropriate crates.

How often will I receive progress updates?

You will receive updates from once a week to 3 times a week. You will get progress videos and miscellaneous content showing you where they have been and what they have been working on during their stay.

What if my dog already completed a Board & Train program elsewhere?

If your dog has already completed a training program elsewhere and you are looking to improve or maintain their obedience, we welcome you and your pup with open arms! After an evaluation, we will be able to determine how we can assist in their training.

Does it matter how old my dog is?

Dogs typically respond better when they are younger, but we train dogs of all ages!

What type of breeds do you train?

No need discrimination here. All breeds are welcome!

Do you offer boarding services?
